Am 1. Oktober feiern die Kinder auf Sri Lanka den Kindertag. Es gibt hier leider keine öffentlichen Attraktionen oder Veranstaltungen, die man in Tschechien oder Deutschland am 1. Juni zum Kindertag erwarten würde. Mindestens nicht in unserer Umgebung. Aber da macht nichts, weil Julia mit Frank immer tolle Ideen haben und haben für die Kinder eine Überraschung vorbereitet. Welche? Eine Filmvorführung mit Snacks und Getränke. Die Filmauswahl war zwar nicht einfach, aber ich denke dass mit dem Film Madagascar kann nichts schlecht gehen. Für Einige von euch könnte es schon als ein älterer Film aus 2005 scheinen, aber für unsere Kinder war er ganz neu. Und mit dem Song am Ende „I like to move it move it.." ist jetzt bei Vielen Mädchen der Lieblingsfilm worden.
In der sehr guten Laune sind wir nach der Vorführung zum Abendessen gegangen. Und es kam Gewitter. Regen. Wind. Blitze. Donner. Und noch Stromausfall dazu. Nicht nur die Kinder hatten Angst, sondern auch ich konnte in meinem Blut das steigende Adrenalin fühlen. Die Erziherinnen haben eine Lampe gebracht und bald ist auch unser Elektrizität-Generator eingesprungen. Gott sei Dank, dass wir ihn haben. Wir konnten unser Curry-Reis beim Licht aufessen und bis wir ins Bettchen hingelegt haben, hat das Gewitter fast aufgehört.
Scary Childrens Day
On October 1st celebrate the children in Sri Lanka Childrens Day. For me, quite unexpected as I thought that all children around the world celebrate it on June 1st as children in my home country in the Czech Republic. When do you celebrate it?
Anyway, we wanted to do something special with our children and the director Julia came up with a great idea of a „movie afternoon" as the children almost never watch movies. When the kids got to know the surprise, they got so excited and were done with their garden work super quickly!
We watched the movie Madagascar which you probably know since 2005. But for this girls it was an unknown movie. From my after-movie survey I can happily announce that they loved it. Although they are still learning English and could not understand every word. On the other hand that can be a good motivation for the future.
After the movie started dinner time and we brought our plates with food on the table. Soon after came a big storm with a strong rain, wind, lightning and thounder. The chilren got scared when we lost the electricity power and the room became dark. Luckily there is a power generator at our Angels home so the lights started to work again soon. Before we went to our beds, the strom disappeared and so we could have dreamed about the Madagascar animals.
